Boys and girls: Under 8, 10, 12, 14 ,16 and 18 years: Two weight divisions per age group. <8 Boys and Girls 30kg’s and under; <10 Boys and Girls 35kg’s and under; <12 Boys and Girls 40kg’s and under; <14 BOYS 50 kg’s and under; GIRLS 45kg’s and under; <16 BOYS 55kg’s and under, GIRLS 50kg’s and under ; <18 BOYS 65 kg’s and under, GIRLS 55kg’s and under.
(AGE CRITERIA: <8 means you must be 8 years old or younger on the 20th June 2009 etc!) (WEIGHT CRITERIA: 30kg’s and under means you must weigh 30kg’s or less, if over 30 kg’s you fight in the next higher weight division etc!)
ADULTS: Male and Female Two weight divisions: Male 70kg and under + Open, Female 60kg and under + Open
It is COMPULSORY for ALL children and colts to wear protective shin pads, gloves, whilst protective headgear for the under 8, 10 & 12 athletes is compulsory (Head gear will be provided) Mouth guards are recommended. Girls and females are allowed to wear chest protectors All contests to be conducted under the IKO Full Contact Kyokushin karate rules. Contestants fee: R60-00 for Children and Colts, R100-00 for adults; Spectators R25-00, children R10-00
